Time is quickly ticking away from us as we anticipate Jack's arrival! I was 35 weeks on Monday and only 5 weeks away from my due date. It is coming much faster than we were ready for which means we have a TON to accomplish in the next month. We are just about finished with the nursery. We still need to fix the floorboard and paint the dresser/changing table. We decided on a vintage car theme for the nursery so we are still putting the final decorative touches up in there. Thanks to my uncles and cousins, the car enthusiasts, we are going to have some pretty neat authentic decor!
The wonderful people Brad works with in the lab at Wrigley's threw us a shower last Monday. They were so very kind and generous to us. Michelle and Stephanie did a beautiful job with the food, cake and decorations. We could really feel the love!
My good friend Sara is also throwing us a "Diapers & Wipes" shower at school on Thursday. We are so overwhelmed by the generosity of others and wonder what we have done to deserve such wonderful people in our lives!
We continue to prepare the house for our little guy by pulling out all the old baby stuff. Lilly however thinks these things are for her babies...let's see how this goes when he arrives! She will be wondering why Jack has taken over her "toys"! We continue to be apprehensive about how she will react to her new baby brother. She has begun "acting" like a baby at bedtime and saying she needs a bottle. We're hoping this is simply a phase and she will switch over into "helper" mode once her baby brother is here. Fingers crossed!
We are also hoping the same thing will happen with the dog. Sophie continues to compete with Lilly for attention which makes us feel like we have two toddlers most of the time! We are hoping she realizes a new role once baby boy is here as well. There is a lot of hoping going on in our house, huh??
It looks like the rest of this week will be filled with a cleaning frenzy in the Kiley house. We have to prepare for the shower DeAnn, Kelly, and Mom will be throwing for us at our house on Sunday. I keep trying to tell Brad this is a good thing because it will force us to do a deep clean now so we will only have to spot clean closer to our due date. I don't think he has bought into this idea yet...
I have my 35 week check up on Thursday. I will be providing another update then. Hopefully I'm not growing a 10 pounder...so far he has been measuring a couple of weeks ahead. Yikes!
