We went for Lilly's 2 month check-up on Friday. She weighed 12lbs 2oz, 23 inches long, and her head was 15 inches. The only small thing about her is her head!! She is definately a chunky monkey! We were excited to find out how she was growing but more importantly we were worried about some new issues that came up within the last week. We have been trying her on different formulas to find something that worked for her. She was having issues with spitting up, gas, fussines etc. so we thought it was the formula. Well this last week...while she was on formula number 3...she developed a really red, inflamed rash on her cheeks that was spreading to the rest of her body. The doctor told us the rash was actually cradle cap. I was not aware that it could spread to the rest of the body but apparently it can. I was thankful it was that instead of eczema since that tends to last longer and never really goes away. She was also having really loose, frequent stools with blood in it. When we told the doctor about all of these things he thought it sounded like she might have a milk protein allergy. He switched her to a new formula (#4) called Alimentum which is the same stuff Lainey takes. Its EXPENSIVE!! But it will be worth it if this solves Lilly's problems. We started the new stuff last night and we have already noticed a HUGE difference. Her face seemed to clear up over night and she had not pooped at all today! She seems to be much more settled and content. She has passed a major milestone just this week....she slept through the night!! WOOHOO!!! She did it the first time on Monday night and scared me to death!! I was convinced something was wrong...she was sleeping too soundly!!! I was up all night Monday...I think I may have slept 2 hours...I had my hand on her for most of the night making sure she was breathing. Tuesday was a long day at school! She has been sleeping through the night ever since so hopefully this is the real thing and will stick for the long haul. I don't know why I was surprised...she is her mother's daughter and I LOVE to sleep!! We continue to feel so blessed and happy in our life right now. We can't help but be amazed at all that God had given us! Stay tuned as we look forward to those new and exciting milestones...laughing, rolling over, sitting up...we can't wait!

WoooHooo ~ Alimentum! She may not have pooped yet, but when she does, make sure to wear a gas mask! Nothing says love like mashed potato smelling poo! It is amazing how much she has changed and even more amazing that she is already 2 months old! Seriously, we need to hang out more...the girls see each other more than we see each other! For now, get some sleep while you can...there could be a growth spurt in your near future! :)
Love,
DeAnn ~ your little big sister
